In-demand jobs: the most openings to 2035, and how much each needs a human

The jobs with the most openings a year to 2035, with how much each still needs a human.

These are the most in-demand jobs: the ones with the most openings each year, on average, in the official 2025-2035 projections from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Openings include new jobs and the much larger number left by people who retire or change careers. Each job also shows how much it still needs a human.

How this list is built

  • Openings are the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ average openings a year from 2025 to 2035: new jobs plus the places left by people who retire or move to other work.
  • Where BLS groups several of our jobs under one code, the list shows the job once and its page says so.
  • The score is our Still needs a human score, 0 to 100, higher is safer, with its evidence grade and replacement range.
